What is the Lakhpati Didi Scheme?
Lakhpati didi Yojana is an ambitious scheme started by the central government which was announced by the Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi on 77th Independence Day. The Ministry of Rural Development has started an extensive program to help more than 3 crore women of the country become lakhpatis.
The objective of the Lakhpati Didi Yojana program is to support Lakhpati Didis to earn a stable income of at least 1 lakh rupees annually. To make them Lakhpatis, women will be given five-point support, in which each Didi will be enabled to adopt at least three to four types of livelihood activities, especially agriculture as well as non-agricultural activities.
Its objective is to make every Didi an entrepreneur or entrepreneur, apart from this, many types of financial assistance like bank linkage and discounts in bank loans will be provided to women, through this, focus will be given on digital and financial inclusion.

Assistance is given to connect the products made by the internal Didis of Lakhpati Didi Yojana to the global value chain and to reach the markets of the country and abroad, along with this, Lakhpati Didis will be linked to schemes started for more than 20 ministries and institutions to mobilize technical and financial resources.
Under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, regular training will be provided to Lakhpati Didis for livelihood activities to the beneficiary women. Support will be given by community resource persons as well as more than 20 partner NGOs.
Apart from this, many programs will be conducted to focus on increasing the income of Self Help Group (SHG) i.e. didis through Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Yojana National Rural Livelihood Mission, which will help the didis to become lakhpatis.
Financial assistance to didis in the form of PG, PE, or FPO, Revolving Fund, Community Investment Fund, Mahila Udyam Acceleration Fund, Bank Linkage to strengthen the productive group of didis, along with programs to increase livelihood in agriculture or related fields such as increasing livestock, cooperation in Jangali Upaj, and many non-agricultural livelihood programs including Startup Village Entrepreneur Program, One Stop Facility etc.
Under the Lakhpati didi yojana scheme, financial assistance is given to didis through self-help groups. Which includes a revolving fund (RF) of Rs. 20 thousand to Rs. 30 thousand, and a community investment fund (CIF) of up to Rs. 2.5 lakh, bank loan up to Rs. 20 lahks without security and rebate in interest on prompt repayment of bank loan, and credit guarantee assistance is provided for a loan of Rs. 5 lakh.

Launch Date: Lakhpati Didi Yojana was launched on 15th August 2023.
Goal: The scheme aims to empower 3 crore women through self-help groups by 2024. Earlier this number was 2 crore, but it was increased to 3 crore in the 2024 budget.
